Sailing Through Life

I set my sails with hope in the darkness of night.
Knowing full well I will eventually sail into the light.
Just living day to day struggling to survive.
Knowing that the seas will not always be smooth; glad nonetheless to be alive.
So I continue sailing following my once forgotten dreams.
Knowing that life is never totally as it seems.
Sometimes the wind stops blowing and I am scared because I'm far from shore.
Yet, I know if I'm patient the wind will blow once more.
It may come as a gentle breeze or as a blustery gale.
But no matter what happens I will once again set sail.
So with hope in my heart I set my sails into all my tomorrows.
Ready to weather the turbulence of life's sorrows.
Knowing that in the end I will find the power to forgive.
And the hope from my childhood will forever live.
