The Card Game

The dealer laid the cards on the table and I looked at them in dismay.
The hand that was dealt didn't look like one that I wanted to play.
"Redeal!" I asked. "There is no way that I can win!"
With a knowing smile these words were spoken...
"Win or lose you will determine how the game will end."
So I started playing the game until it looked like there were no more cards to play.
I was ready to end the game when the card dealer said "Let them lay.
Take a break and when you come back you'll see there are cards left to play.
Moves you have overlooked will surprise you.
You've been concentrating so hard on winning you've overlooked all that you can do.
Just remember win or lose it is up to you."
So the game continues and sometimes I look at the cards laid out on the table and...
think there is no way I can win.
But instead of ending the game I continue to play
because I know it is up to me how the game will end.
