New Year

Year after year,
making resolutions,
I never seem to keep.
While the clock continues to tick off the hours,
until time for my eternal sleep.

Year after year,
thinking things will change.
But, in spite of my best intentions;
things always seem to remain the same.

A new year dawns;
with all of its' promises.
Fresh snow falling on the lawn;
transforming the landscape into a fairy land.

"But I have promises to keep,and miles to go before I sleep." (Robert Frost)
