Shuttered Eyes

He looks at
me with shuttered eyes.
When I tell
him, I feel he needs to apologize.
(to his
stepfather)
He looks at
me and says “why?”
All the
time, looking with shuttered eyes.
I wonder,
what he hides behind shuttered eyes.
Is he
hiding a rebel spirit, which lives deep inside?
Or is he
hiding a frightened child; he tries so hard to disguise.
All the
time, looking with shuttered eyes.
