| Once at a poetry reading a woman finished reading a love poem. When she was through the moderator mentioned that he thought writing about love was difficult. Having tried to write several poems about love I have to agree with him. Recently while looking at the picture with the couple in the moon I thought what if I superimpose an image of a young couple dancing. So I did that. Then I thought what if the young couple dancing really weren't young. What if this was their last dance? And out of that thinking this poem came together. I would like to think that my husband and I will together have "A Last Dance" after a lifetime of LOVE and romance. |

| What is love and what is romance? The answer is different depending on; who you ask. For one person romance may be a lover bringing flowers and for someone else it may be a lover bringing a picnic basket. But no matter what romance is; it is constant. Romance is the harbinger of love. And romance is what keeps love alive. The romantic feelings may for awhile disappear but if two people really love each other I don't think that romance totally dies. Sometimes though I think it needs a helping hand. I'm not even going to go into talking about what love is. Tons of books have been written about love. Love is something not really understood but written, sung, and talked about. |
| Recently while reading a book on relationships I came across the phrase "bright kite tails of romance". That phrase sparked the writing of this short poem. The other short poem was inspired when reading a paragraph about healthy relationships being knitted together. Not Always Stormy Seas Sometimes we float free like kite tails on the breeze. *~*~*~*~*~*~* Our Relationship It takes more than romance to sustain a relationship for life.
