Spring!: A Time of Celebration and Hope
Goodbye Winter

Winter starts to slowly die.
Snow melts; a final goodbye.
Goodbye to days dark and drear.
Hello to days sunny and clear.

Spring is slowly drawing near.
Budding trees makes it so clear.
Dormant seeds sprout where they lie.
Time to wish Winter goodbye.

(This poem is written in the Irish style of Awdl Gwydd. The form is composed of seven syllable lines with line two and four rhyming and lines three and eight. Written as two quatrains)

Spring On The Way

Although snow still falls sometimes;
I know that Spring will soon come.
Bulbs waking up underground.
To grow and bloom in the sun.

As people shed winter gear.
Welcoming a new season.
Earth becoming new again.
Flowers decorate the ground.

Memory Loss

In Spring I forget Winter's sullen time.
As she matures, changing to Summer's prime.
Dark, dreary days, a distant memory.
Memory thrown away, spent cigarettes.
Summer winning me while my mind forgets.
Until birds start to go migratory.
Flowers (A Circle Back Cinquain)

Flowers...
Announcing Spring.
Along with gentle rain.
Visual reminder Spring is here.
Flowers...

Spring is the season of renewal. It is a time when  flowers like daffodils and tulips push their way up through the ground letting us know that warmer days are ahead. Letting us know that Winter will soon bid us farewell. Spring is a time of hope.

I hope you enjoy the poems written in different forms about Spring.
Happy Springtime!
